How to set up an iPad for Welcome Visit

This article is for all building administrators who want to know more about setting up an iPad for visitor registration

To ensure secure and easy visitor registration, we recommend using the iPad in kiosk mode with Kiosk Pro: Web Kiosk. This setup locks the iPad to a predefined registration page, allowing users to use this page.


Configuring an iPad in kiosk mode

  1. Download the Kiosker Pro app from the App Store: Kioskers.

  2. Configure the Kiosks app:

    1. Open the Kiosks app and go to settings (see image below for correct setup).

    2. Set the URL of the Welcome Visit page as the default site under "Site". This can be found in the portal or by contacting support.

    3. Enable "Limit to this site only" to ensure that the user can only navigate to the specific site.

    4. Turn on "Hide status bar" to provide a cleaner user experience.

    5. Adjust "Use top edge" and "Use bottom edge" as needed.

    6. Allow "Allow inline playback" to ensure that all multimedia elements work properly.

  3. Enable Guided Access for extra security:

    1. On your iPad, go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access.

    2. Turn on Guided Access.

    3. Navigate to the Newsstand app and triple-click the Home button (or Side button, depending on your iPad model) to launch Guided Access.

    4. Tap "Start" and enter a password to lock the app.

  4. Exit Guided Access:

    1. Triple-click the Home button (or Side button) and enter your passcode to exit Guided Access.
