How your QR code works

This is for all users who wish to know more about their personal QR Code at Welcome Food.

Your QR code is personal and can only be used once per day

Your QR code in Welcome is linked directly to your personal lunch deal with your employer. It is not a generic payment method — it represents your subsidised lunch deal and can only be used by you.

How to use your QR code

Open the Welcome app and find your QR code. Show the code to the restaurant or scan it at the till. In buildings with multiple lunch options, select the correct option before scanning.

One scan per day

The QR code can only be scanned once per day. Once used, your lunch deal for that day is spent — regardless of the amount. You cannot use it again the same day to buy more food or to pay for others.

Can I use the code for a colleague or guest?

No. The QR code is personal and cannot be transferred. If the restaurant attempts to scan the code again, it will be automatically rejected. This is not an error — it is a design decision to ensure the subsidised lunch arrangement is used as your employer has agreed.

What happens if the code is rejected?

If your code is rejected, it may already have been used today. There may also be a technical issue — try refreshing the app and showing the code again. Contact us if the problem persists.

The money goes to the restaurant, not Welcome

When you use your QR code, the payment is transferred directly to the restaurant's bank account. Welcome is only a facilitator of the transaction — the money never passes through us.

Forgot your phone?

If you don't have access to the Welcome app, the restaurant has no way to register your lunch deal via QR. You will need to pay in the usual way (card, Vipps etc.) and cannot claim a refund for the unused lunch deal that day.
